James Howard Dodson

  James Howard Dodson, Cushing resident, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in the Stillwater Medical Center at the age of 62 years.

  The son of Dora Ault Dodson Collins and the late Howard Dean Dodson, James was born on May 6, 1947 in Okemah, where he was also reared and educated graduating from Okemah High School.

  He was united in marriage to Jessica McNeill on July 6, 1996.

  James enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting and was a shopper deluxe at garage sales or anywhere he could find a good bargain.

  He had worked for NAPA Auto Parts for 10 years and for Central VoTech as a Purchasing Agent for 6 years.

  Survivors include his wife, Jessica, of the home; his mother, Dora Collins of Broken Arrow; six children, Jay Dodson of Cushing, Chris Dodson of Port Richie, CA, David Dodson of Cushing, Angela Dooley of Cushing, Valerie Deans of Cushing and Nathan Deans of Cushing; 15 grandchildren; sister, Gerry Price of Broken Arrow; mother-in-law, Marian Deans of Cushing; close family members, Larry & Carol Dodson of Cushing and other relatives and friends.

  He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Dean Dodson.

  Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in the Davis Memorial Chapel with John Spire officiating.

Jessica, We are so sorry to hear about Jim. He always had a smile and was always eager to talk to us. He loved life and his family. Especially his grandkids. He was such a neat guy! I just heard that Jim had passed away. Words cannot express the loss I feel for your family. God gives us the strength to carry on without our loved ones being physically with us. The spirit of our loved ones will always surround and be with us. Jim was a thoughtful man and was always nice to me. Rest in Peace.
