Cleta Patricia Paday passed away early Monday morning, Dec. 14, 2009 in the Stillwater Medical Center at the age of 52 years.
The daughter of the late Sam Morris and Fonda Mae Gray Morris, Cleta was born on June 3, 1957 in Cushing, OK and was reared and educated here, graduating from Cushing High School.
Cleta had worked and is retired from Oklahoma State University, She was a member of the Church of God; she enjoyed reading and studying the Bible; singing, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and was an avid O.S.U. fan.
Survivors include her children, Lourfonda Slayton of Stillwater and Samantha Anderson of Perkins; one brother Jerry Morris and his wife Linda of Bethany; 6 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Rondal Morris and two sisters, Louisa Morris and Marye Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 12 noon until 8 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19, at 11 A.M. in the First Church of God in Cushing with Reverend Roger Roberts, officiating.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Cleta. I had only found out recently what her name was, and am so sad to hear of her passing after only finding recently where she was. I didn't get a chance to contact her to talk after all these years. Cleta and I spent many summers playing together when I stayed summers with my grandparents, who lived next door to Sam,Fonda and Cleta, on South Cleveland Street in Cushing. We used to play 'church', taking turns being the preacher and songleader, as well as riding our bikes. Cleta was such a good friend when I was growing up. I still remember Bennie and Louisa living across the street from there for awhile. There were times where her niece Susan Obispado (Jerry and Linda's daughter) would be around and the three of us had such a good time.
