Charles Lloyd Sprague was born in Cushing, Oklahoma to OmaLea (Harmon) and Ralph Sprague on February 8, 1935. He grew up and went to school in Cushing, living there most of his life. He passed from this life on Thursday, December 24, 2020 in Cushing at the age of 85 years. He had a son, Ralph Sprague born from his first marriage.
married Beverly Sams Cox on August 11, 1967. To this marriage he gained a daughter Janice Cox and son Mark Sprague was born. He was married to Beverly 38 years until her death on August 9, 2005. He later married Bobbie Seybert and had several good years with her.
He started working at Anthony’s as a teen, helping his family out after the death of his father. He served 2 years in the United States Airforce. He worked for Sam Walton in the beginning stages of what became Wal-Mart. He sold insurance briefly, worked for the city of Cushing Electric Department, Lakko Industries as an electrician before going to Western Crude Oil (later acquired by Texaco). He transferred to Glendive Montana in 1980 from Texaco. He worked his way up to transportation superintendent of the Sidney division. He took early retirement at 55 years of age and moved back to Cushing. He worked briefly at Moore Business forms in Stillwater, before going back to the city of Cushing in the waste water treatment plant. He worked there 10 years until he retired for good.
He loved the Lord; enjoyed the outdoors; yardwork; gardening; as much golf as he could get in, and most of all, spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents; his first two wives and a sister Marilyn Sparkman.
He is survived by his wife Bobbie; sons Ralph (Terri) and Mark Sprague; daughter Janice Baker (Kerry); four grandchildren, Clay (Amber) and Matt (Shauna) Baker, Abby and Kiah Sprague; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other family.
A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Liberty Church (highway 33 & Fairgrounds Road) Perkins, with his nephew Louis Cowan in charge.
