Obituary for Dolly Kifer

Genevieve “Dolly” Kifer passed away on October 19, 2019 at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma due to an unknown heart-related complication. She was 55 years old.
Dolly was born on June 27, 1964 to Rose Alice Mesker and Thomas Patrick Mesker. In 1991, she began working at Consumer’s IGA in Stillwater where she met Gary Wayne Kifer. They married on July 20, 1996, and shortly after welcomed their only daughter, Kayla Marie, into the world. Dolly worked at IGA for 14 years before moving to Cushing, Oklahoma. In 2015 she returned to Stillwater and in 2016 began working for Sprouts Farmer’s Market where she was beloved by both customers and coworkers. Dolly enjoyed watching OSU football, grilling on her porch, sitting by the pool, and drinking a beer while spending time with those she cherished most in life. People could always count on Dolly if they needed a good meal and an even better conversation. She lived simply, and she could be quoted many times saying, “My rent is paid, I have food in my belly, and clothes on my back, and for that I’m truly blessed.”
Dolly is survived by her daughter Kayla Kifer of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, her sisters Rose Mesker, Patty Nicholson, and Bridget Christopher of Wellington, Kansas, many nieces and nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Gary Kifer, mother Rose Alice Mesker, father Thomas Patrick Mesker, and brother Thomas Mesker.
A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Ish Engle officiating.
