Obituary for Edgar R Patterson

Edgar R. Patterson, longtime Cushing resident, passed away Friday evening, May 17, 2019 at the age of 85 years.
The son of the late Thermern Patterson and Roxy Hancock Patterson, Edgar was born on July 29, 1933 in Drumright, Oklahoma.
He was united in marriage to Ida LaJune Scribner on May 23, 1952 and to this union two children, Marty and Karan were born. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2018.
Edgar had worked for Kerr-McGee for several years before working for the State of Oklahoma as an animal control officer.
He was a member of the Nazarene Church, later attending the First Assembly of God Church. He loved music and had played in a band in the early 50’s, called the Rockets. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Marty Patterson and his wife Brenda of Cushing and Karan Cook and her husband Marc of Broken Arrow, OK; one sister Irene Browning of Cushing; grandchildren, Chris Cook and wife Cathy, Amber Sitton and husband David, Shelley Austin and husband James, Matt Patterson and partner Tay Merkle, Brianna Axtell and husband Michael, April White; many great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of his life will be Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Lifeline Assembly of God Church with Tim Jolly officiating.
