Obituary for Trudi Lee Cooper

Trudi Lee Cooper, longtime Cushing resident passed away Saturday morning, May 18, 2019 at the age of 78 years.
The daughter of the late Lee Troxell and Coweta Merchant Troxell, Trudi was born on October 23, 1940 in Perkins, Oklahoma and was raised and educated in Perkins, graduating from Perkins High School with the class of 1958.
Trudi will be remembered by all that knew her from her many years of running the Homestead Restaurant. She started working for the Kinzie’s in March of 1970, when it was called the Dairy Hut. This past March gave her 49 years of serving the patrons of Cushing in the restaurant business. She had a passion for people and was known for her generosity of helping whom ever needed help. She loved her family and was always baking something to take to someone.
Trudi is survived by Steve Smith, who she considered to be her son; her siblings, Jimmy Troxell and his wife Darlene of Williamsburg, Indiana, Timmy Troxell and his wife Pat of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Shannie Allen and her husband Tommy of Cushing; one aunt, Marcella Garrett of Cushing; several nieces and nephews including Brooke and Mike Duff of Dallas and many other friends and relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a husband John Cooper and a sister Debbie Miller.
