The son of Arthur Pyles and Florence Edna Stringer Pyles, Ken was born in Mansfield, Arkansas on August 18,1936. Ken was raised by his mother and step-father, Enoch Robertson, in Hon, Arkansas. When he was ten years old Ken trusted Jesus Christ as his savior and trusted in the Lord’s leadership throughout his life. As a young man Ken enjoyed his ministry as a tenor gospel singer.

Following his military service, Ken began his career as a salesman in the cosmetics industry.
Ken was united in marriage to Peggy LaVonne Durham on December 23, 1962. Their fifty-six years of marriage saw them living in Kansas, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma during his sales career. Then Ken and Peggy owned and operated Ken’s Corner Store in Springdale, Arkansas for nine years before retiring to Cushing in 1999. Ken was a genuine handyman, a student of history, a gardener and a patriot. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, great and grandfather, and friend.

Ken is survived by his wife, Peggy of the home; son Tracy Pyles and wife Doris of Cushing; two daughters, Kendra Laufer and husband Kevin of Owasso, and Darla Holden and husband Dan of Owasso; eight grandchildren, Nathan Pyles and wife Amy of Edmond, Vanessa Wheeler and husband Derek of Tulsa, Hanna Foote and husband Zach of Owasso, Molly Milam and husband Jesse of Ada, Kylie Holden of Tulsa, Blake Holden of Owasso, Kara Laufer of Owasso, and Danny Holden of Owasso; five great grandchildren, Nash Douglas Pyles, Lauren Elizabeth Wheeler, Avery Kate Pyles, Philip Durham Wheeler, and Walter Kenneth Foote; one brother, W.A. Pyles and wife Jean of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister-in-law Elaine Booker of Newton, Kansas; numerous other family and friends.
